January 2026 Thoughts: Lawless America - A Commentary

US American Immigration and Custom Enforcement (ICE) and US Border Patrol increasingly are comparable to Nazi-Germany’ s Sturmabteilung (SA) in the early 1930s. In 1933, after Adolf Hitler was appointed Chancellor and the National Socialists had won the national elections in March 1933, the Sturmabteilung (SA), an auxiliary paramilitary force (‘storm troopers’ in English) were launching a wave of terror and intimidation against civilians. The goal was power consolidation - its means terror. SA troops violently beat up people in the streets, assaulted, abused, arrested and disappeared people; opponents to the regime, members of the Socialist and Communist party, members of the Sinti and Roma and Jewish communities. In June 1934, Adolf Hitler had more than 100 members of the ‘Sturmabteilung’ (SA) murdered. The ‘Schutzstaffel’ (SS) and the ‘Wehrmacht’ (the German military) took over from the SA. The SS was to be in charge of Nazi-Germany’ s extermination camps. It is becoming clearer every day, that Trump, Vance, Musk, Miller, Noem - the Trumpists - are following the script of the National Socialists in Nazi Germany of the early 1930s. The United Sates of America today are in the hands of violent National Socialists, dominated by US American Christian Nationalism and White Supremacy at the same time. It is an extremely dangerous situation, both domestically and abroad.
